Monsters in the Dark

There was a bang,
I jumped in fright,
I turned and thought of fangs,
But nothing came to sight.

My breathing came short,
Like someone stabbed my throat,
Since running isn't my sport,
My head swayed like a boat.

Something grabbed me,
I let out a scream,
As I try to flee,
My shirt ripped at the seam.

My skin starts to rip,
As claws dig into me,
In the air I do a flip.

Chills run up my spine,
As glowing eyes come to sight,
I know I'll be fine,
Cause I'm out of time.
